2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Basketball: Hobby Contents and Key Chases
Two autographs per hobby box on average, a six-player Color Blast chase and two new numbered Velocity parallels give collectors distinct ways into this release.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

2024 Panini Prizm WNBA Basketball puts Caitlin Clark rookie hits, Sue Bird autographs and Color Blast inserts among its collecting draws. For hobby-box buyers, the starting point is concrete: 24 Prizms, 10 inserts and two autographs per box on average. For collectors buying individual cards, the new Pink Velocity and Black Velocity parallels offer numbered targets alongside the super-short-print Color Blast chase.
Despite the 2024 product name, Panini's February 12, 2025 announcement described the release as available. That establishes availability by the announcement date; it does not establish a separate exact street date.
What a hobby box offers
Panini gives these hobby-box averages in its official release announcement:
| Hobby-box content | Stated average |
|---|---|
| Prizms | 24 |
| Inserts | 10 |
| Autographs | 2 |
The appeal is a mix of parallel collecting, insert hunting and signatures in the same box. These are averages, so they should guide expectations rather than serve as a promise for an individual opening. The announcement does not provide packs per box or cards per pack.
Panini highlights Bird and Clark in its discussion of autograph pulls. A collector interested in either player still needs to identify the specific card before buying: a box-level autograph average does not tell you which player's signature will appear. For a collection centered on one player, an individual card gives you control over that choice.
Color Blast: the featured insert chase
Panini describes Color Blast as a super-short-print insert and names six players collectors can chase:
| Color Blast players named by Panini |
|---|
| Caitlin Clark |
| Angel Reese |
| Breanna Stewart |
| Rickea Jackson |
| Sue Bird |
| Jewell Loyd |
The Color Blast draw is the combination of a vibrant design and a player you want to own. Clark and Bird also connect this insert chase to names Panini highlights elsewhere in the release, giving their collectors more than one card type to consider.
“Super short-print” is Panini's rarity description. The announcement supplies neither a numerical print run nor pull odds for Color Blast, so it cannot support a calculation of how many boxes it would take to find one. Choose the card for its player and design; treat the rarity label as context rather than a measure of market value.
Pink Velocity and Black Velocity
The release introduces two numbered Velocity parallels:
| Parallel | Numbering |
|---|---|
| Pink Velocity | /79 |
| Black Velocity | /39 |
Black Velocity has the lower stated numbering. That makes it the smaller numbered target of the two, while Pink Velocity offers a different color choice with a larger stated run. Neither numbering alone establishes which card is the better purchase: the player, condition, visual appeal and asking price still matter.
For a focused collection, these parallels provide a clear comparison. Start with the player you want, then decide which appearance and numbering you prefer. If Color Blast is the attraction instead, evaluate that insert on its own terms rather than assuming it has a known print run comparable to either Velocity parallel.
2024 Prizm WNBA offers three useful collecting routes: hobby boxes for the mix of autographs, Prizms and inserts; numbered Velocity singles for a specific player and parallel; or Color Blast for the featured design chase. Pick the route that delivers the card you actually want to keep.
