2025–26 Upper Deck MVP Hockey centers on a 250-card set: 200 regular cards plus 50 SPs and rookies. Connor McDavid opens the regular set at #1, while Ivan Demidov #233, Dalibor Dvorsky #246 and Ryan Leonard #249 give rookie collectors specific cards to pursue. Script parallels add another version of those numbered cards, and coded redemptions form a separate chase. Upper Deck’s product overview confirms the set breakdown; its official checklist supplies the player entries and odds.

For a player collection, the useful starting point is the card number and treatment. Demidov’s Rookie SP #233 and its Script parallels share a player and number, but they are different collecting targets. A division redemption needs its own code on the want list.

The regular base set and short prints

Upper Deck lists six to seven base cards per pack beside the regular base entries. The opening eight cards offer a straightforward start for player and team collectors:

4Brock BoeserVancouver Canucks
5Robert ThomasSt. Louis Blues
6William EklundSan Jose Sharks

8Aleksander BarkovFlorida Panthers

The regular run reaches Quinn Hughes #200 for Vancouver. The checklist then labels #201 Joel Eriksson Ek, #202 Yanni Gourde and subsequent shown entries Base Set – SP’s. Those SP rows carry 1:2 h, 1:2 e, 1:4 r, 1:4 b, the same notation shown beside the Rookie SP entries below. See Upper Deck’s base and SP listings.

Keep the checklist team with the player and number when sorting cards or searching listings. A familiar name alone will not distinguish a regular base card from a parallel in this release.

Named Rookie SPs to put on a want list

Demidov, Dvorsky and Leonard appear under Base Set – Rookie SP’s, with each row marked Rookie. Other named rookie targets include:

These are selected confirmed entries, rather than the full rookie checklist. The official checklist prints 1:2 h, 1:2 e, 1:4 r, 1:4 b alongside them. The letters are retained in Upper Deck’s shorthand throughout this guide. Read those rates as insertion odds, not a promise of a particular player or a guaranteed result from a small batch of packs.

Upper Deck prints “Gabe Perreault CL” at #250 while marking it Rookie. Retain that description when matching a listing to the checklist. For Demidov, the equivalent precise target is the MVP Rookie SP #233; adding the parallel name becomes essential if you want a Script version.

Script parallels give the same card a different target

Gold Script provides a Blaster route, with separate odds for regular cards and Rookie SPs. Silver Script likewise has different rates for the two groups. Super Script and Black Super Script introduce numbered scarcity in Hobby and e-Pack, according to the parallel listings.

ParallelRegular base entriesRookie SP entries
Gold Script1:4 Blaster1:20 Blaster
Silver Script1:5 h/e; 1:10 r/b1:20 h/e; 1:40 r/b
Super ScriptNumbered to 25; random inserts in Hobby and e-PackNumbered to 25; random inserts in Hobby and e-Pack

The checklist also lists Black Super Script numbered to 1, with random insertion in Hobby and e-Pack, beside the opening base cards. Numbering and pack odds describe different things: a /25 identifies a numbered edition, while 1:20 describes an insertion rate.

For a McDavid collection, base #1 and Gold Script #1 are separate targets occupying the same player slot. For Demidov, Gold Script #233 carries the Rookie SP rate of 1:20 Blaster. Check the full parallel name before comparing listings; the regular Gold Script rate does not apply to the rookie entry.

Draft-pick and division redemptions have their own codes

The checklist describes DP-1 and DP-1A as redemption cards without naming a player. The four RR entries identify divisions. Their codes and subjects are the supported identities to use when comparing cards:

CodeChecklist entryListed odds
DP-12025 NHL Draft #1 Pick1:1,250 h/e; 1:2,500 r/b
DP-1A2025 NHL Draft #1 Pick Gold Parallel1:12,500 h/e
RR-1Pacific Division Rookie Redemption1:400 h/e; 1:2,000 r/b
RR-2Atlantic Division Rookie Redemption1:400 h/e; 1:2,000 r/b
RR-3Metropolitan Division Rookie Redemption1:400 h/e; 1:2,000 r/b
RR-4Central Division Rookie Redemption1:400 h/e; 1:2,000 r/b

Upper Deck’s redemption listings give the Gold draft-pick redemption a separate code and rate. Keep both when recording it. Likewise, RR-1 and RR-2 remain different targets even though their stated odds match.

These entries do not establish the eventual player cards, redemption deadlines or fulfillment status. Before buying a specific redemption, check its code and terms. The insertion rate alone does not establish the value of the card it may yield.

New inserts and stickers broaden the set

Upper Deck’s product overview names four new inserts: Mascot Battle, Net Presence, Rising to the Occasion and Coming to Your Rink. It also introduces Mascot Stickers and Hello My Name is Stickers. These give collectors additional themes to explore alongside the numbered player set.

A focused collection can start with regular team cards, add named Rookie SPs, then choose a parallel or insert theme worth keeping. For every purchase, match the season, card number and exact set or parallel name. That makes a base card, a numbered Script and a coded redemption easier to judge on their own merits.
