The card code matters as much as the player in 2025–26 Upper Deck Tim Horton’s Hockey. Tim Horton opens the numbered base set at #1, while Connor McDavid appears in Co-Stars, True North Heroes, National Selections and Powerhouse Pillars. For a McDavid collection, the choice is between a paired-player card and several individual entries, each with its own code and listed pack odds.

Upper Deck’s official 2025–26 checklist supplies the set names, card numbers and odds below. The base run, player inserts and much longer-odds relics and autographs offer different collecting projects. Choose the cards you want to own before using pack odds to decide what to chase.

Start with the numbered base set

The base checklist begins with Tim Horton at #1 and reaches Sebastian Aho at #120. Upper Deck lists two base cards per pack. That describes the base-card allocation; it does not give the odds of finding a particular player.

John Tavares is base #5, Alex Ovechkin is #8 and Artemi Panarin is #10. Later in the run, Brayden Point is #112 and Adam Fantilli is #113. Those numbers give player collectors precise starting points and set builders a straightforward #1–120 framework for tracking gaps.

Ovechkin illustrates why base numbers and insert prefixes belong on the same want list. His base #8, Attack Angle AA-14 and Powerhouse Pillars CP-4 are three distinct targets. Start with #8 if the numbered set is the goal; add the inserts if you want to expand the player collection. Keeping the codes separate also prevents an insert from being mistaken for a missing base card when sorting a binder.

Compare the insert groups

The manufacturer checklist offers eight named insert groups below, ranging from Monumental Moments at 1:3 packs to Powerhouse Pillars at 1:200 packs. These are the listed group odds, not the odds of pulling the specific example in the table or a promise about the contents of a given pack.

Checklist groupExact exampleListed odds
Monumental MomentsMM-7 Macklin Celebrini1:3 packs
True North HeroesTNH-8 Connor McDavid1:4 packs

Co-StarsCO-2 Leon Draisaitl / Connor McDavid1:24 packs
National SelectionsNS-1 Connor McDavid1:100 packs
Powerhouse PillarsCP-1 Connor McDavid1:200 packs

Goalie Etchings gives goalie collectors a dedicated group, including GE-9 Igor Shesterkin, GE-10 Jake Oettinger and GE-14 Hellebuyck. Monumental Moments includes MM-6 Sidney Crosby and MM-7 Celebrini. The checklist identifies the players and codes, but does not describe the specific moment depicted on each card.

Co-Stars is especially useful for a paired-player collection. CO-1 joins Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar; CO-2 joins Draisaitl and McDavid; CO-4 joins Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield. A McDavid collector who wants him alongside Draisaitl has a different target from TNH-8 or NS-1, even though each includes McDavid.

National Selections and Powerhouse Pillars offer another comparison. Crosby appears at NS-2 and CP-2, McDavid at NS-1 and CP-1, and Auston Matthews at NS-5 and CP-3. Powerhouse Pillars also includes Connor Bedard at CP-6. National Selections has nine listed cards and Powerhouse Pillars has six, so either can serve as a smaller checklist project than the base run.

Their respective 1:100 and 1:200 pack odds help distinguish the chase, but do not establish print runs or market values. For a player collection, compare the actual cards and keep the full code on your want list.

Upper Deck labels NHL Jersey Relics entries Jsy and lists 1:1,800 packs. Examples include J-CC Cole Caufield, J-CH Connor Hellebuyck, J-JT John Tavares and J-TZ Trevor Zegras. The checklist’s jersey label does not specify the material’s origin; check the individual card’s wording when that distinction matters to a purchase.

NHL Signatures carries an Auto label and listed odds of 1:7,200 packs. Its entries include S-QH Quinn Hughes, S-MK Matthew Knies and S-SS Stuart Skinner. NHL Signature Jersey Relics carries both Auto and Jsy, with 1:89,520 packs listed. SJ-MT is Matthew Tkachuk and SJ-JW is Joseph Woll. The prefixes separate an autograph target from a card listed with both an autograph and jersey material.

The official checklist also separates Superstars Autograph and Timbits Autograph from NHL Signatures:

Checklist groupCardListed odds
Superstars AutographSA-SC Sidney Crosby1:154,345 packs
Superstars AutographSA-NM Nathan MacKinnon1:134,280 packs
Timbits Autograph2008 Logan Stankoven1:134,280 packs

Keep Stankoven’s 2008 identifier with the Timbits Autograph set name; it is the card identifier shown in this 2025–26 checklist. Crosby and MacKinnon have different listed autograph odds, so a single odds figure would lose that distinction.

There are two further entries worth separating from these autograph groups: SW-1 Shea Weber Legend Tribute Card and DP-1 Top Draft Pick Redemption, each listed at 1:12,000 packs. DP-1 is described as a redemption card, with no player named in the supplied checklist entry. A want list should retain that description rather than assign it to a draft pick.

For any of these targets, record set name, code and player together. That makes listings easier to compare and helps distinguish a card you want from another appearance by the same player. A long pack-odds figure can explain the chase; the exact card and its asking price still need their own assessment.
