2026 Panini Select Racing: Zilisch Color Blast and Petty Signatures
Select's three-tier base set meets a vivid Zilisch chase, a Petty autograph preview and NASCAR memorabilia cards.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

Connor Zilisch stands in front of a burst of pink, orange and blue on a black card face. Panini's Black Color Blast preview is the loudest image in its 2026 Select Racing announcement, but it is only one route through this release. Richard Petty's Legendary Signatures preview makes a very different case, using an archival racing photograph and a large signing area. Kyle Larson's Sparks preview puts a memorabilia window inside a jagged, high-energy design. Three cards, three reasons a racing collector might care.
Select also gives the base set its familiar three-tier structure. That matters here because the subject pool includes current drivers and NASCAR legends, rather than limiting the box to one era. A collector chasing a particular driver can look for that name across the tiered base cards, while the previewed inserts and autographs offer more focused targets. Panini has announced the structure and shown individual designs; the preview is not a complete card-by-card checklist or a promise that any particular card will appear in a box.
What is in a Hobby box
Panini lists 12 packs of five cards for a Hobby box. It says collectors can look for three autograph or memorabilia cards and 12 parallels per box, on average. Those are box averages, so one box is not a guarantee of any particular autograph, driver or insert. The configuration gives a collector 60 cards to sort through rather than a one-pack hit format, while the three-tier base set gives those packs a broader purpose than simply revealing the hit cards. Panini's Hobby details
Panini names Sparks and Selective Swatches among its memorabilia programs, citing Joey Logano and Denny Hamlin as examples of drivers in its race-used material discussion. That statement belongs to those described cards; it does not establish the origin of every swatch shown in a preview. The distinction matters with Larson's Sparks image below: the card shows a blue-and-white fabric window, but the preview alone does not tell us which race, garment or event supplied that piece.
Zilisch gives Black Color Blast a striking centerpiece

The Zilisch preview does not try to reproduce a crowded race scene. His dark suit stays readable against the black field because the colored powder sits behind him, and the Select logo occupies a corner instead of covering the driver. The result puts the young driver's full figure at the center. It is a sharp visual contrast with the structured borders on the Petty and Larson cards.
Panini calls Black Color Blast an ultra-rare Hobby-exclusive insert. That identifies its intended chase role, but the announcement gives no numerical insertion odds or print run. A collector can reasonably admire the preview and recognize its Hobby-only positioning without assigning a manufactured scarcity number to a card that Panini has not quantified. Panini's Black Color Blast description
Petty's signature and Larson's swatch take different approaches

Richard Petty's Legendary Signatures preview places a photograph of Petty in his blue-and-red STP suit above a broad, light signing panel. The red, black and gold frame is elaborate, but the signature area is clear enough to remain the focal point. Panini also names Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Darrell Waltrip in the Legendary Signatures program. That combination gives the set a direct connection to drivers whose place in NASCAR history is itself a reason to collect, independent of a parallel color. Panini's autograph announcement

Larson's Sparks preview is built around angular yellow graphics and a red racing suit. The swatch window sits low on the left, large enough to show the blue-and-white fabric pattern without taking over the driver photograph. Compared with Petty's composed autograph layout, Sparks is deliberately restless. Both cards use the Select identity, but they ask the collector to look at different evidence: the signature presentation on one, the memorabilia window and driver image on the other.

For this release, the most useful way to read the previews is by driver and card design, not by an invented ranking of which unannounced pull will be worth more. Zilisch's Color Blast is the bright Hobby-only chase Panini chose to show; Petty offers the historic autograph lane; Larson shows how the memorabilia program looks on a modern driver. The published box averages explain the format, while the individual card images explain why a racing collector might want to open it—or pursue one exact card when the full checklist is available.
