2026 Bowman U Best Football: Four Autographs and a Whole Saturday
CJ Carr gets a riot of color, Brutus gets a red border, and Michigan Stadium gets the whole frame. Bowman U Best has room for more than quarterbacks.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

CJ Carr's Bowman Showpieces autograph looks like somebody gave a football card the keys to an entire art department. Checkerboards, metallic balloon lettering, curved red shapes and bright green textures crowd around his Notre Dame uniform. Then the design clears a white space for the blue signature. It is gloriously busy without losing the reason an autograph collector came to look.
That card captures the appeal of 2026 Bowman U Best Football, scheduled for October 30. The release puts four autographs in each hobby box, but its personality extends to school crests, stadium photographs, defensive players and a particularly good-looking red Brutus Buckeye. College football has plenty of things worth collecting beyond a quarterback's stat line.
Four autographs in a 40-card hobby box
The official hobby-box guide specifies four packs of 10 cards, with 12 boxes per case. Each box includes four autographs, three numbered parallels, three Base Refractors, two Shimmer parallels and eight inserts. Hobby is the announced format.
The case-level inserts deserve their own line: Topps specifies one Best of the Best or Campus Crests per case, plus one Best of Mascots or Best of Stadiums in every two cases. Each “or” matters. A case is not promising both Campus Crests and Best of the Best, and a single box is not promising a mascot or stadium card.
The 100-card base set has its own color chase. Announced examples run from Yellow Lazer Refractors numbered to 250 through Blue /150, Gold /50 and Red /5 to the 1/1 SuperFractor. Those numbers describe the named base parallels; they should not be carried over to every autograph or insert family. Topps has not announced a box price on the product page.
Where Arch Manning fits on the checklist
The official checklist PDF is particularly useful here. Arch Manning appears in Best of 2026 Autographs as BOA-AMA and Big Kahuna Autographs as BK-AMA. He does not appear in the PDF's numbered 1–100 base list. An Arch autograph chase and an Arch base-card chase are different propositions in this release.
CJ Carr is base card 49, LaNorris Sellers is 16, Kewan Lacy is 56 and Bryce Underwood closes the base set at 100. The checklist also reaches backward through Best of High School Tribute: Josh Allen represents Firebaugh High School and Peyton Manning represents Isidore Newman School. Both have autograph variations. That gives the product a small, specific connection between today's college cards and the earlier football lives of two established names.
Three very different ways to frame a signature
Carr's Showpieces card, pictured above, makes the Notre Dame monogram part of its autograph area. The gold helmet and navy uniform keep the player recognizable amid the swirls and checkerboards. The white signing space is the design's anchor: remove it and the blue ink would have to compete with everything else.

Kamario Taylor's Best of 2026 Black Refractor takes a cleaner route. His black Mississippi State uniform sits inside a dark frame, while the lower photograph fades into a pale patterned autograph field. The large blue signature has room to stretch. The pictured copy is numbered 10/10, and the black border complements the uniform without swallowing it.

Jared Curtis gets the full Big Kahuna treatment: enormous white lettering, a fiery orange background, flowers and an ornate border around his black Vanderbilt uniform. A cloudlike white panel carries the autograph. The card is loud above the signature and quiet beneath it, which is exactly where this design needs to calm down. Manning and Carr also appear in the Big Kahuna autograph checklist.
Campus colors and stained glass

Darian Mensah's Campus Crests card makes Miami's identity the composition. Sebastian the Ibis occupies a huge orange field, while Mensah runs down the right edge and green trim ties the pieces together. The school imagery is large enough to share billing with the player. Campus Crests has 34 checklist entries, including Carr, Underwood, Jared Curtis and Cam Coleman.

Kewan Lacy's Best of the Best surrounds a powder-blue Ole Miss uniform with a stained-glass-style pattern. Heavy black outlines hold the blue, green, purple and red pieces together, and a curved silver name band keeps the picture organized. Campus Crests shouts in school colors; this one builds a decorative window around the player. They are distinct designs for the two inserts sharing that one-per-case allocation.
Brutus and the Big House belong in this set

Brutus's Red Refractor is an easy card to enjoy. The border picks up the red in his trousers, striped shirt and cap; the photograph supplies the personality. The preview is numbered 1/5. Here the parallel color contributes something immediately visible to the card, beyond the smaller number in the corner.
Best of Mascots has 20 checklist entries, with a separate autograph variation list. Sparky, the Stanford Tree, Raider Red and Big Red are among the company Brutus keeps. A mascot collection can cross school loyalties in a way a player collection often doesn't. Even then, an Ohio State collector may have to think hard before making room for the next photograph.

The Michigan Stadium card looks straight across the field toward the scoreboard, with the stands filling the middle of the frame. Its relatively restrained border lets the photograph carry the card. There are nine venues on the Best of Stadiums checklist, including Kyle Field, Tiger Stadium, Notre Dame Stadium and Neyland Stadium. This is the part of Bowman U Best that collects the place as well as the people.
Send the House gives defense its own design

Leonard Moore's Send the House puts him in a low defensive stance amid flying rubble, a blue spiral and a yellow-and-black title strip. The composition feels like the play is about to break through the frame. Its 10-card checklist also includes Sammy Brown, John Henry Daley and Tyrique Tucker, giving defensive players a dedicated insert rather than leaving them scattered around the autograph list.

Workhorse is more theatrical. Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele's autograph preview combines his Cal uniform with a rearing horse, flames, gears and a vertical title. The blue signature crosses a pale opening below the football. It is a very different mood from Carr's playful Showpieces collage, even though both designs use a light signing area to keep a busy composition readable.
The multi-player autos have a reason to be together
The Notre Dame Quad Autograph, QA-ND, pairs Carr with Leonard Moore, Nolan James Jr. and Aneyas Williams. That is a school collection condensed into one card. The checklist also groups Arkansas, Indiana, Texas A&M and Texas players on their own quads, alongside conference-themed combinations.
The quarterback Hexagon, HEX-QB, brings together Sagapolutele, Bear Bachmeier, Demond Williams Jr., Kamario Taylor, Kenny Minchey and Carr. Topps describes the Hexagon format as six signatures across both sides. That physical arrangement matters: this is a card whose reverse is part of the main attraction, not just somewhere to put statistics and fine print.
Underwood's relic card puts the fabric first

Bryce Underwood's Prospect Relic Autograph gives most of the card to one large white fabric window. His photograph runs down the left side; the Michigan monogram sits above the material; a blue signature on a visible certification sticker sits below it. The proportions make the fabric the first thing you notice, with the autograph completing the lower edge.
Topps identifies Prospect Relic Autographs as game-used memorabilia, while Behind the Seams Dual Relic Autographs use player-worn swatches. Those are different provenance descriptions. The Underwood preview's front says game-used without identifying a particular game. Behind the Seams adds a different visual idea as well, with an old Hollywood film theme around its two relics.

Carr's Showpieces autograph is my pick for the release's most exuberant preview; Brutus Red is the strongest marriage of parallel color and subject. Underwood's relic takes a third route, giving a piece of football material the space to matter. Add Michigan Stadium's wide photograph and the Notre Dame quad, and Bowman U Best starts to feel like a college-football collection with several distinct entry points. The four-autograph box gets attention. The differences between the cards are what make this release worth spending time with.
