2026 Topps Inception Football: Josh Allen's Color Storm
Josh Allen gets a glowing ring, Carson Beck gets an enormous patch window, and Caleb Downs gets room for silver ink. Inception returns to NFL cards on November 6.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

Josh Allen's Charged Particles autograph has enough color to wake up an entire card show. A bright ring surrounds the Buffalo quarterback, green blades fan out behind his white jersey, and little colored spheres punctuate the blue-and-pink background. The blue signature sits across the lower part of the composition. The pictured Blue parallel is numbered 01/25, but the number is only part of its appeal: this is an unmistakably extravagant football card.
That is a promising introduction to 2026 Topps Inception Football, scheduled for November 6. Topps calls it the first NFL Inception release since 2015. The return brings new autograph designs, a substantial rookie checklist and a Carson Beck relic card with very little interest in keeping its fabric window modest.
A 200-card checklist, with 50 rookies at the end
The official checklist runs from 1 through 200. The first 150 cards cover established NFL players; the final 50 form the rookie section. Fernando Mendoza opens that group at 151, followed by Ty Simpson at 152. Carson Beck is 155, Jeremiyah Love 158, Ja'Kobi Lane 177 and Caleb Downs 192.
The established-player portion gives the product more range than a rookie-only release. Allen is card 16, Bo Nix 46 and Drake Maye 103. Those names also appear in autograph content, so a collector following one of those quarterbacks has a reason to read beyond the rookie list. The current U.S. launch page has not supplied a box price or a standard hobby-box breakdown.
Gold Electricity and Hot Pink change the base cards

Drake Maye's Gold Electricity /50 preview gives the base design a sharp geometric accent. Long gold rays cut across the painted background and point inward toward the quarterback. His white Patriots uniform creates a broad, relatively quiet area in the middle, making the reds, blues and metallic lines around him feel even brighter. The effect is closer to a burst than a conventional colored border.

Mendoza's Hot Pink /35 takes a different approach. Pink fills the top and name band while orange and blue frame his throwing motion. The black Raiders jersey anchors all that color; the silver helmet and trousers keep the player distinct from the background. Both Gold Electricity and Hot Pink are new base parallels for 2026, according to the Topps collector guide.
Allen and Nix introduce two autograph designs
Charged Particles and Immersion Autographs are new to Inception Football. Allen's card, pictured above, uses the circular structure almost like a second frame inside the card. His throwing pose occupies the center, while the ring gives all those scattered colors somewhere to gather. The pale autograph panel softens the lower edge without removing the spectacle.

Nix's Immersion Orange /10 looks looser and more liquid. Blue, green and purple paintlike shapes rise around his orange Broncos jersey, while the top and bottom of the card pick up the uniform's dominant color. His extended finger supplies a second direction of movement alongside the football. Allen's design is organized around a circle; Nix's flows around the player.
Both previews show blue autographs on visible certification stickers. The checklist has 12 Charged Particles subjects and 16 Immersion subjects. Charged Particles includes Derrick Henry, Josh Jacobs, Puka Nacua and Pat Surtain II alongside its quarterbacks. Immersion includes Brock Bowers, Malik Nabers, Tyler Warren and Colston Loveland. Those lists give the two new designs distinct collecting possibilities beyond Allen and Nix.
Simpson and Downs give the signatures room

Ty Simpson's Rookie Autographs Black preview is numbered 1/1. The Rams' blue and yellow uniform sits against orange flourishes and a black-and-white outer pattern. Below the player, the composition fades into a large white autograph field. That space lets the long blue signature stretch across most of the card's width. It is a strong use of the base design for an autograph: the upper half supplies the energy, and the lower half gives the ink priority.

Caleb Downs's Silver Signings turns the card sideways. The Cowboys rookie occupies the left edge, backed by orange and red, while the silver signature runs across a broad black field. His white helmet and jersey connect visually with the light ink. The preview is numbered 085/100; Topps also announces rare 1/1 versions with inscriptions. Silver Signings has 10 subjects, including Mendoza, Simpson, Beck and Love as well as Downs.
Beck and Love share a Cardinals card

The Beck–Love Dual Rookie Autograph makes a neat Arizona pairing. Beck's photograph sits at the upper left beside his signature; Love's sits at the lower right beside his. The opposing corners and two separate signing areas keep either player from looking like an afterthought. The pictured Gold parallel is 01/50, with a gold center band separating the two halves.
There are seven pairings in Dual Rookie Autographs. Other examples include Ty Simpson with Max Klare for the Rams, Drew Allar with Germie Bernard for Pittsburgh, and Makai Lemon with Cole Payton for Philadelphia. The separate Dual Rookie Relic Autographed Book checklist has eight pairings, including Fernando Mendoza with Mike Washington Jr. for Las Vegas. The shared team gives those combinations a clear collecting theme.
Beck's jumbo relic earns the name

Beck's Rookie Jumbo Relic Autograph devotes most of its surface to a round, gold-rimmed fabric window. A dark diagonal section crosses the red material, making the swatch easy to appreciate at a glance. Beck's photograph is tucked into the upper-right corner, and the blue autograph runs across the top. On this design, the memorabilia is the main event.
The preview is numbered 01/99 and labels the material player-worn. That description does not establish use in an NFL game. The red card treatment, red Arizona uniform and red fabric work together particularly well, which is what makes this specific preview more memorable than a checklist entry reading “rookie patch auto.”
Launch and Dawn of Greatness add different chases

Ja'Kobi Lane's Launch card gives the Baltimore receiver a huge orange-and-yellow burst behind his purple jersey. Black at the top and bottom contains the brightest area, and oversized gold lettering fills the lower edge. His white gloves and the red-brown football remain clear despite the busy background. Launch has 25 subjects. A separate 25-card Rookie Short Prints checklist includes the same players; the two are distinct checklist sections.
The autograph selection also reaches into earlier NFL generations. Dawn of Greatness has 20 subjects, including Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Barry Sanders, Jerry Rice, Dan Marino and Aaron Donald. Genesis appears separately under autograph relics with 24 rookie subjects, including Mendoza, Simpson, Beck and Love.

Allen's Charged Particles is the preview I would go back to first: the white Buffalo uniform, blue ink and elaborate circular background have a wonderfully over-the-top balance. Downs's Silver Signings is the more restrained autograph design, and Beck's jumbo relic wins on sheer use of space.
