2025–26 Panini Noir Basketball: Checklist and Rookie Autographs
Five autographs in an eight-card box, with Sneaker Spotlight and rookie patch signatures giving Noir its strongest reasons to stop and look.
The most interesting photograph in 2025–26 Panini Noir Basketball might be a pair of shoes. Jeremiah Fears' Sneaker Spotlight Signatures preview gives the footwear nearly the entire upper half of the card, sets a small portrait beside it and leaves a broad white space for blue ink below. That signature-first approach runs through the product. Hobby boxes contain eight cards, with five autographs, one memorabilia card and two base cards, base parallels or inserts, on average. Noir has enough confidence in the signed cards to make them most of the box. Official Hobby configuration
September 18 is the Hobby date to watch
The standard Hobby release is expected September 18, 2026, according to GTS Distribution and Checklist Insider. The separate First Off the Line release was scheduled for September 10. Fears, Johnson and Edgecombe lead the rookie autograph story
Panini specifically highlights Jeremiah Fears, Tre Johnson and VJ Edgecombe among its exclusive autograph athletes. They sit within a wider mix of veterans, retired players, rookies and NIL subjects. The rookie patch autograph checklist gives those three a clear starting point. Their Black and White versions are #102 Edgecombe, #103 Johnson and #104 Fears, each numbered to 35. The Color versions are separate cards: #132, #133 and #134, also numbered to 35. A collector can choose between two presentations of the same player without confusing the designs or the card numbers. Johnson's preview makes the point of the Black and White treatment immediately. The portrait is monochrome, the patch supplies a burst of color and the autograph has its own clean lower panel. Two Spotlight sets with different personalities
Spotlight Signatures is the broader star-and-rookie autograph target. Its checklist includes Derrick Rose, Tyrese Maxey, Cade Cunningham, James Harden, Allen Iverson, Ja Morant and Carmelo Anthony, alongside rookies such as Fears, Johnson and Edgecombe. Sneaker Spotlight Signatures narrows the visual idea. Fears appears as card #3, with Edgecombe #2 and Johnson #4; their standard versions are also numbered to 49. The shoe photograph is a design element, not a piece of footwear embedded in the card. That distinction matters because Noir also has a separate Sneaker Swatch Signatures checklist. Noir checklist
Fears' card earns its horizontal layout. The close-up makes the texture and shape of the shoe legible, while the player portrait and signature keep it from becoming an anonymous equipment card. This is the Noir design we would put first in a conversation about the release: the subject has a reason to look this way.
FOTL adds a separate low-numbered autograph
First Off the Line adds one FOTL-exclusive autograph numbered to six or fewer to the signed-card lineup. Its advertised box averages pair that card with five other autographs and one memorabilia card, plus two exclusive base cards, parallels or inserts numbered to eight or fewer. That allocation makes FOTL's appeal specific to two kinds of Noir collecting. The additional card goes into the signature portion of the opening, while the two unsigned exclusives replace the ordinary base-or-insert slots. For a collector following Noir's signed cards, the extra low-numbered autograph is the main distinction; for someone working on a player's base and insert parallels, the unsigned exclusives create a separate FOTL collecting path. A wider cast behind the headline autographs
The unsigned side uses Base, Vintage Art, Motion Picture and Biopics groupings. The checklist stretches from Allen Iverson, Magic Johnson and Larry Bird to college and high-school subjects, so the player mix is broader than a conventional current-NBA roster. That range gives Noir two complementary strengths: established names with distinctive signed designs, and rookie cards that put patch and ink at the center of the presentation. For Hammy, the Fears Sneaker Spotlight and Johnson Black and White patch autograph are the clearest examples of what the product does well. The five-autograph average gets attention; cards like those give the attention somewhere to land.
