Joe Montana opens a six-panel run of football greats. The box choice is just as distinctive, with Black Crystal in Hobby and on-card ink in Jumbo.

Joe Montana, Jim Kelly, Drew Brees and John Elway would make a terrific four-signature card. In 2026 Leaf Vivid Football, they fill just the red panel. Leaf’s biggest chase unfolds across six panels and 24 autographs, with a different color for every quartet.

The booklet groups its legends by position

The Leaf sell sheet shows two panels of quarterbacks, two of running backs and two of receivers. The yellow panel alone puts Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Earl Campbell and Tony Dorsett together. Move over one panel and it’s Edgerrin James, Thurman Thomas, Terrell Davis and Marshall Faulk. The position groupings give the booklet an order you can follow even before you start reading all 24 signatures.

Leaf’s sell sheet puts multi-signed cards at one per case on average. That covers a wider group than the booklet. The Triple Exposure preview, for example, squeezes Joe Greene, Jack Ham and Donnie Shell into one card. That trio tells a Pittsburgh defense story in three signatures; the booklet takes six panels to tell its own. Leaf hasn’t given the 24-signer a separate pull rate.

Hobby’s Black Crystal vs. Jumbo’s on-card ink

FormatAutographs per boxWhat’s exclusiveBoxes per case
Hobby73 Black Crystal Signatures10
Jumbo92 on-card autographs8

Leaf’s detailed sell sheet spells out the mix: Hobby has four autograph cards plus three Black Crystal Signatures. Jumbo has seven autograph cards plus two on-card autographs. The Leaf product page shows seven on its Jumbo tile and calls out on-card ink separately; the sell sheet explicitly counts nine total. Southern Hobby’s Jumbo listing gives the same breakdown.

Malachi Toney’s Black Crystal preview shows why Hobby has a chase of its own. His white uniform jumps out against the dark facets, and his signature finishes with a hand-written #10. Jumbo’s preview pairs Emmitt Smith and Barry Sanders with one signing space for each beneath the two portraits. Both backs appear on that yellow booklet panel, too, but the dual gives their pairing the whole card. That’s the Jumbo draw if you collect either player or prefer ink signed directly on the card.

Neon and Pure Imagination work with different kinds of color

Neon and Pure Imagination both return on layered PETG, a clear plastic Leaf uses to build up the design. Jeremiah Smith stands in front of thin streaks of color on Neon, with his name running down the side and his signature grounded in a gold panel. Pure Imagination gives Barry Sanders a whole sky: broad rainbow rays fan out above him and the blue signature carries across the foreground. They’re two of the easiest designs to tell apart in a set that rarely sits still.

Monochrome goes the other way. Manny Pacquiao’s preview uses a black-and-white boxing portrait that leaves the blue ink as the strongest color on the card. Leaf also names Daisy Ridley, Johnny Depp, Mel Gibson and Paddy Pimblett for the crossover set and advertises one Monochrome per case on average. The Pacquiao design looks like it belongs in a boxing collection just as easily as it does in a Vivid run.

When does 2026 Leaf Vivid Football come out?

Leaf’s release calendar has Vivid Football coming in December 2026. Leaf hasn’t confirmed an exact day or posted a full checklist. The six-panel booklet and the box exclusives are in the previews; the checklist will tell us which signers have cards in each insert and how those cards are numbered.
