A material-focused two-hit format

The advertised selection also includes keepsake relics, presidential relics, cut autographs and Dual and Triple Relics. A multiple-relic card is one possible card type within the release; it does not change the two-card hit guarantee into a promise of a particular number of individual material pieces.

Those categories give the box different possible directions. A watch dial centers on a manufactured object, a fossil relic on natural-history material, and a handwriting relic on a document. The individual card identifies which sort of item it represents.

Original artwork is a separate chase

The manufacturer’s preview also advertises randomly inserted 1/1 original artwork sketch cards, with a row of historical-subject sketches illustrating the program. They give the release a card-art chase alongside its object and document selection. The preview does not provide numerical pack odds for pulling a sketch.

The red Series 1 box is the identifying package for this edition. Pieces of the Past also offers a separately labeled Series 2, so the two should be matched by their series designation when comparing the advertised selections.
