2026 Topps Allen & Ginter: Rip Cards, Non-Baseball Autos and the Oddball Chase

2026 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball opens for preorder Tuesday, September 8 at noon ET — 9 a.m. PT. The first preview has the ingredients that make Ginter its own corner of the hobby: a Kevin McGonigle rookie Rip Card numbered to 99, mini autographs from Rob Lowe and Jesse Eisenberg, and insert sets about music, language and baseball power. Topps built the 300-card base set around the brand's familiar mix: MLB stars share the checklist with personalities and subjects from outside baseball. The preview gallery shows Aaron Judge on a base card, Francisco Lindor on an autograph and Mike Trout on Wicked Power, so the baseball side is not taking a back seat to the oddities.
Rip Cards: McGonigle /99 creates the first big decision
The most interesting card in the preview may be Kevin McGonigle's rookie Rip Card, shown with a 01/99 serial stamp. It gives the 2026 product an early rookie-centered chase and brings back the choice that has defined Allen & Ginter Rip Cards since the brand's modern debut.
A Rip Card has a smaller card hidden inside. Opening the back reveals the mini, but it also changes the outer card permanently. Leave it sealed and the numbered McGonigle remains intact; open it and the unknown mini becomes the collection piece. Topps' Rip Card guide
Topps calls the 2026 Rip Cards limited-edition, but has not identified the hidden-card pool or published pull odds. They are a chase, not a guaranteed box hit.
If you pull one, the player on the outside should drive the decision. A McGonigle collector may value the intact rookie more than the mystery. A collector who wants the hidden mini may see the outer card as the price of admission. Check the exact player, serial number and completed sales before choosing; there is no undo button after the rip.
Rob Lowe and Jesse Eisenberg lead the non-baseball autographs
Topps has revealed Rob Lowe and Jesse Eisenberg as two of the 2026 Mini Non-Baseball Autograph subjects. Both preview cards use the tall mini format with prominent blue-ink signatures. Topps' 2026 preview
Those two actors are confirmed previews, not the complete autograph checklist. Topps describes the wider category as athletes, personalities, public figures and champions from beyond baseball. The final list will determine whether the non-baseball side is a deep collecting lane or a handful of headline names.
That crossover appeal is central to Ginter. A collector can chase an actor, athlete, creator or cultural figure who rarely appears in a mainstream baseball release. The best non-baseball autographs often work as stand-alone collections because their audience extends beyond team and player collectors.
The baseball autograph previews have weight too. Francisco Lindor appears on a signature card, while Bobby Witt Jr. fronts an Autograph Relic with a large swatch labeled game-used memorabilia. Topps says the Autograph Relic cards pair on-card autographs with jumbo jersey relics from veterans and rookies.
The unusual inserts are the point, not a detour
Allen & Ginter does not make collectors choose between baseball and the strange stuff. The set puts both in the same pack experience. Three new insert names are confirmed for 2026:

The jukebox and “Bonjour” previews capture the Ginter formula. They are ordinary subjects made collectible through illustration, set building and the smaller card format. Wicked Power keeps a direct line to baseball, with Trout as the first shown subject.
Signature Minis also return with rare Chrome and Metal parallels. Those versions add modern materials to a design family rooted in the small-format cards of the 19th century. One-of-one Cut Signatures sit at the other end of the autograph chase, though Topps has not named the 2026 subjects yet.
What matters when the order page goes live
The preorder landing page establishes the themes, but the order decision depends on the product details Topps has not released yet.
- Format and box contents: confirm the exact Hobby, retail or other configuration being sold and the promised contents for that format.
- Guarantee language: “Look for” identifies a chase. A stated per-box guarantee is different.
- Checklist: use the final list to judge the depth of the Rip Cards, non-baseball autographs and favorite-player targets.
- Odds: the odds sheet will show how difficult the mini parallels and named insert families are to pull.
- Price: compare the preorder price with the number of cards and guaranteed hits once Topps posts them.
Do not carry the 2025 box configuration into 2026. Allen & Ginter keeps its personality from year to year, but formats and guarantees can change.

The early preview gets the identity right. McGonigle /99 gives Rip Card collectors a meaningful rookie on the outside. Lowe and Eisenberg give the non-baseball autograph lane two recognizable names. Musical Methods and 50 Ways to Say Hello embrace small subjects that other baseball sets would never consider, while Trout's Wicked Power keeps the checklist tied to the field.
For set builders, the 300-card base set is the foundation. For autograph collectors, the complete non-baseball list is the next major reveal. For Rip Card collectors, the hidden-card checklist and odds matter most.
