2026 Topps Chrome MLS Sapphire: October 8 EQL Drop and Infinite Chases
Messi and Son's flowing Infinite Sapphire designs lead a soccer release built around blue Chrome, colorful parallels and a deep autograph checklist.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

Lionel Messi in pink, Son Heung-Min in white, and a flowing silver infinity shape stretching across blue Sapphire: the new Infinite Sapphire cards are the visual centerpiece of 2026 Topps Chrome MLS Sapphire. Both previews use a wide composition that lets the player's celebration and the silver ribbon occupy the whole card. It's a distinctive reason to follow this edition alongside the regular Chrome MLS release. Topps Sapphire preview
The US EQL drop opens Thursday, October 8, at 11 a.m. Eastern / 8 a.m. Pacific. Topps has published the Sapphire-specific checklist and odds. Its US preview does not yet establish a box price or pack configuration; those details will be added when the exact launch terms are available. Official US release page
Infinite Sapphire: Messi, Son and the rookie connection
The ten-card Infinite Sapphire checklist starts with Messi at IS-1 and Son at IS-2. Rookie entries include Mateo Silvetti at IS-6 and Adri Mehmeti at IS-7, giving the design established-star and emerging-player appeal. Topps describes Infinite Sapphire as appearing one per case, while its odds sheet lists the regular category at 1:80 packs. Neither figure promises a Messi in a case. Messi's upward-pointing celebration and Son's outstretched arms make good use of the horizontal layout. The ribbon curls behind the players instead of boxing them into a small photograph. The blue Sapphire texture remains visible around the silver shape, tying the insert to the edition without repeating the base-card frame. Official card previews
A 200-card base set and the signature roster
The base checklist runs from #1 through #200. Messi is #10, Diego Luna #50, Son #68, Antoine Griezmann #152 and David Beckham #173. Current MLS players and former league stars share the set, making Sapphire color a collecting route for individual players as well as club-focused collections. Official Sapphire checklist
Chrome Autographs includes Messi (CA-LM), Beckham (CA-BE), Griezmann (CA-GZ) and Robert Lewandowski (CA-RL), alongside Cavan Sullivan, Luna, Silvetti and Mehmeti. These are autograph-checklist entries; the exact box's signature guarantee needs its own launch configuration. The roster establishes the player possibilities without importing the standard Chrome Hobby box's promises. Sapphire autograph checklist
Gold Sapphire and the pack-odds ladder
Luna's Gold Sapphire preview pairs the gold field with Real Salt Lake's red and navy kit. The team-color stripe curves down the right side, while the player's extended arm cuts across the photograph. Its 01/50 marking gives the pictured parallel a specific scarcity to match the color treatment. Topps parallel preview
Base-color categories step from Gold at 1:5 packs to White 1:8, Orange 1:9, Black 1:22, Red 1:43 and Padparadscha 1:213. Gold Chrome Autographs are 1:19 packs, Orange 1:32, and the regular Sapphire autograph category 1:70. These rates describe the named category across eligible subjects, not an individual player or a box as a whole. Official pack odds
Infinite Sapphire has its own Padparadscha category at 1:4,056 packs, much tougher than the regular insert's 1:80. That separates two chases: the flowing design itself, and its exceptionally scarce parallel. The Messi and Son previews make the first chase attractive before any parallel is added.
