2026 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Sapphire Edition Preview
Eight packs, one Sapphire autograph and a new Green parallel give the November 12 release its shape. Earlier Hamilton and Bortoleto cards show the finish’s appeal.
We update this release guide as verified product details develop.

The 2026 Topps Chrome Formula 1 Sapphire Edition box puts its autograph promise right on the front. Beneath the blue faceted artwork, the packaging announces a Sapphire autograph in every box. The release is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2026, with a new Green Sapphire parallel and signed Sapphire Selections among the reasons to watch this particular corner of Chrome. Topps format guide
There is a useful contrast inside that blue box: a short opening, a signature to anchor it and numbered Sapphire color to follow. Sapphire has its own collecting identity within the larger F1 Chrome family. Two earlier cards—a blue Gabriel Bortoleto rookie and a pink Lewis Hamilton autograph—help explain how much that identity depends on the relationship between the photograph, the finish and the ink.
Eight packs put the autograph at the center
Each 2026 Sapphire box contains eight four-card packs, making 32 cards, with one autograph and three numbered Sapphire Refractors. Cases hold ten boxes. That makes the signature a central part of a relatively compact opening, alongside a specific allocation of numbered Sapphire color.
The standard 2026 Chrome F1 Hobby box takes a longer route: twenty four-card packs, or eighty cards, with an autograph, four Prism Refractors and at least three numbered parallels. Sapphire offers the same stated autograph count in forty percent of the cards. The distinction is in the composition of the opening: Hobby provides more of the wider Chrome set, while Sapphire concentrates the experience around its own finish and numbered parallels. Topps box comparison
The packaging makes the distinction easy to see. Hobby uses a red display with driver portraits and visible packs; Sapphire presents a closed blue box with its autograph message across the front. Both are 2026 Chrome F1 products, but their pack counts and parallel programs give collectors different openings.
Green joins a finish built around blue
Green Sapphire is new for 2026. Topps also identifies Purple Sapphire and the one-of-one Padparadscha Sapphire, which caps the chase. Green’s numbering and the complete color ladder remain to be announced.
For a look at the established Sapphire style, consider the 2025 Gabriel Bortoleto Sapphire Selections rookie pictured below. His green-and-black race suit sits against angular blue planes, with a large silver-framed nameplate below. The photograph has personality too: Bortoleto points toward the camera, turning a straightforward driver portrait into a direct little challenge to the viewer.
Blue fills most of that card, yet the green sleeves and bright nameplate remain distinct. That is the visual question the new Green parallel makes interesting: how will the additional color work with a driver’s uniform and the Sapphire pattern? The Bortoleto card shows the previous edition’s approach; the 2026 Green announcement opens another route through that familiar finish.

Sapphire Selections brings a signed chase
The announced 2026 autograph content includes Sapphire Selections Autographs alongside driver autographs. That gives the new release a named signed program to follow as the Sapphire checklist develops. Bortoleto’s earlier unsigned Selections card demonstrates the line’s portrait-led design; the 2026 announcement adds the interest of seeing how signatures will fit that presentation.
Another 2025 preview supplies a different example of Sapphire and ink working together: Lewis Hamilton’s autograph card, marked 1/1. Hamilton is smiling in Ferrari red, sunglasses on, helmet at his side and a thumb raised. A pale fade across the lower photograph leaves room for the blue signature, while the pink faceted surround and yellow trim keep the card bright.
The appeal goes beyond the stamp. The red uniform establishes Ferrari immediately, the open white area makes the autograph readable and the colorful outer frame gives the photograph a strong edge. Hamilton’s relaxed pose keeps the card from feeling formal. It is a useful example of why an autograph can be the centerpiece of a Sapphire opening: the signature and the surrounding design each contribute something visible. Both cards shown here are previous-edition examples, rather than announcements of 2026 subjects. Topps’ 2025 Sapphire gallery
Infinite Sapphire is the case chase
Infinite Sapphire is scheduled at one per ten-box case for 2026. It sits alongside the box-level autograph and numbered parallels as another distinct part of the release. The published case frequency gives that insert its place in the opening; a full Sapphire checklist will supply the subjects and variations.
The name has continuity within F1 Sapphire. Topps paired Infinite Sapphire with Sapphire Selections in its 2025 release, giving the earlier product two named insert identities alongside the Sapphire treatment itself. For 2026, the case-level Infinite announcement and signed Selections program give those familiar names two distinct chases to follow as the new card designs arrive. 2025 Sapphire product description
November 12 gives Sapphire its own release date
Sapphire follows the wider Chrome F1 rollout. Topps gives the main Chrome release an October 15 street date, Logofractor October 29 and Sapphire November 12. The Sapphire date describes the format’s scheduled release; its opening hour, launch price and purchase arrangements are still to come. Official format schedule
The next reveals worth watching are specific: the Green Sapphire numbering, the signed Selections designs, the driver autograph list and the Infinite Sapphire subjects. The box already has a clear shape. Eight packs keep the opening compact, the signature has a promised place and the numbered color gives Sapphire’s distinctive surface three more opportunities to show what it can do.
