2026–27 Upper Deck Artifacts Hockey: Rookies, Aurum and Ovechkin Seat Relics

Porter Martone #171 opens the named rookie run in 2026–27 Upper Deck Artifacts Hockey, but the set reaches well beyond its rookie parallels. Alex Ovechkin’s ten Salute to GR8Ness seat-relic cards document named milestones, Shutout Stubs links goaltenders with dated ticket cards, and Aurum has separate current-player, rookie, All-Star and greats groups. The main set has 100 regular base cards, 50 Stars #101–150 numbered to 699, 20 Greats #151–170 also /699, and 30 named Rookies #171–200 numbered to 999. A separate 40-entry Rookie Redemptions block begins at RED201; those redemption entries are distinct from the already named rookie cards.

The named rookie checklist

Martone’s non-autographed parallels include Ruby /499, Orange /149, Platinum Sparkle /99, Copper /75, Rose /65, Yellow /50, Pink /35, Purple /25, Amber /15 and Emerald /10. Jade Green /100 is listed for Blasters. The Black rookie autograph group is /5 and has 23 entries, while the named rookie base set has 30; the autograph checklist is its own selection. Clear Cut rookies use acetate at 1:48 Hobby packs. Faux Leather, Faux Wood and Plexi versions are separate material treatments at 1:107, 1:178 and 1:267 Hobby packs. The material is part of the attraction here: a transparent Clear Cut card and a faux-wood card make visibly different additions beside the same player’s conventional Artifacts rookie.

Martone’s memorabilia ladder changes the contents

For Martone #171, Material Gold pairs two jersey pieces at /399. Material Emerald combines jersey and patch at /25, followed by dual-patch Purple /15 and Black /5. His signed versions run from Auto Material Gold dual jerseys /25 through Emerald jersey/patch /15 and Purple dual patches /15 to Black dual tags 1/1. Official memorabilia rows

Those are substantive construction changes. The Purple and Emerald signed cards share /15 numbering but contain different material combinations; the Black autograph’s dual tags supply a further distinction beyond its one-of-one edition. The checklist identifies those materials without assigning game-used provenance.

Ovechkin’s GR8Ness cards mark specific moments

Arena Artifacts Salute to GR8Ness Seat Relics has ten acetate entries numbered to 40. OVI-1 commemorates Ovechkin tying Gretzky with goal 894 on April 4, 2025; OVI-10 identifies the all-time goals ceremony on April 10, 2025. Shutout Stubs and Cold Hard Facts

Shutout Stubs contains 20 acetate ticket entries, numbered to 10. Bernie Parent SS-BP is tied to February 6, 1978, while Tuukka Rask SS-TR carries December 16, 2015. The printed date makes each card a specific goaltending-history subject, rather than an interchangeable ticket window.

Cold Hard Facts has 12 jumbo-jersey entries numbered to 25, with a parallel jumbo-patch group numbered to 15. Adam Fantilli CHF-AF and Victor Hedman CHF-VH bookend that checklist. Aurum has four distinct groups

Regular Aurum covers 48 cards at 1:13 Hobby packs. Fourteen rookies follow at #49–62 and 1:64; ten All-Stars occupy #63–72 at 1:107; twelve Greats finish #73–84 at 1:160. Anton Frondell begins the Aurum rookies, Connor McDavid begins the All-Stars and Bobby Orr begins the Greats. The Cale Makar All-Star preview shown here belongs to that #63–72 group.

Aurum’s autograph checklist has different counts: 30 regular subjects, all 14 rookies, six All-Stars and nine Greats, each listed /25. That gives an Orr collector, a Makar collector and a Frondell collector different checklist routes through the same ornate gold design. Between Aurum’s portrait-led cards, Ovechkin’s milestone relics and the dated Shutout Stubs, Artifacts now has several fully defined subjects to pursue beyond its opening base set.
