Jaron-Keawe Sagapolutele’s Gold Refractor autograph has an excellent color partner: his own Cal jersey. The gold shirt sits inside a gold-edged frame, a large Cal badge anchors the lower corner, and blue ink stretches across a pale opening beneath the football. The signature gets plenty of room without pushing the school out of the picture.

That balance gives 2026 Bowman U Signature Football an appealing first look. Topps is bringing current college players and established names together through autograph themes that include Heisman Legends, Fan Autographs and Legend Relic Autographs. Preorders open November 2 at 1 p.m. Eastern / 10 a.m. Pacific.

Cal gold makes the signing space work

Sagapolutele’s preview, pictured above, is numbered 03/50. Its gold and blue framing echoes the Cal colors, while the black helmet gives the upper half a darker anchor. The autograph crosses the lower part of the photograph, where the image fades toward white. Image and ink share one continuous panel, with the player’s hands and football remaining clear above the signature.

The circular school badge is a substantial part of the design. Cal’s script logo almost shares a line with Sagapolutele’s name, and both sit below the signing area. The three elements are easy to read in order: player, ink, school. For a college autograph card, that is a useful arrangement; the university remains prominent even with a large signature above it.

Carr’s blue and Underwood’s silver keep the schools in view

Carr’s Blue Refractor puts a white Notre Dame uniform against a deep-blue field. His gold helmet supplies the brightest color in the photograph, while the blue border leads down to an oversized ND monogram. The pictured 013/150 numbering sits just above his name. This version has no autograph panel; the throwing pose fills the space instead.

Bryce Underwood’s base preview uses silver-and-white bands around his Michigan photograph. The maize helmet and block M provide the school color, with blue trousers completing the familiar combination. His wrist play sheet remains visible in the action image. Between Underwood and Carr, the same curved frame accommodates two recognizable college identities without needing a completely different design for each school.

Sellers gives Black a garnet edge

LaNorris Sellers’ Black Refractor autograph is the strongest counterpoint to Cal gold. Black surrounds the photograph, while garnet runs across the top and returns in his helmet and sleeves. The blue signature is broad enough to reach across most of the pale signing area. A large South Carolina badge and 06/10 numbering finish the lower edge.

The autograph’s long underline and visible number 16 give it a different rhythm from Sagapolutele’s looping signature. Both cards leave the ink legible, but Sellers’ darker surround makes the white fade especially pronounced. The attraction here is specific: South Carolina’s colors work with the Black treatment, and the signature has space to retain its individual shape.

Sam Bradford joins the current college names

Topps names Sam Bradford, Arch Manning, CJ Carr and Darian Mensah in its release announcement, alongside on-card autograph content from legends and current stars. Bradford gives the collection a connection to an earlier college-football era, extending its appeal beyond the quarterbacks pictured in the first previews.

Heisman Legends Autographs and Legend Relic Autographs give that historical side distinct themes of its own. Fan Autographs are also announced. Those names broaden the autograph story beyond the main framed design shown on Sagapolutele and Sellers; the complete checklist will establish how the players are distributed across those families.

November 2 opens the preorder

The US preorder begins Monday, November 2, 2026, at 1 p.m. EST / 10 a.m. PST, with the same opening shown on the Topps release calendar. That is the preorder opening; Topps has not yet announced the physical release date, box configuration or price.

Bowman U Signature is a separate product from Bowman U Best Football. Its first previews make their own case through a consistent frame, large school emblems and generous signing areas. Sagapolutele Gold is my pick for the cleanest marriage of uniform and parallel color, with Sellers Black close behind. Carr and Underwood show that the school identity carries through to the unsigned cards as well. That is a promising foundation for a college set whose name puts the autograph first.
